About our University :-

Inspired by Dr. Jose G. Tamayo and his wife Dr. Josefina Laperal Tamayo’s commitment and belief in the betterment of life throught national development and transformation, Dr./BGen Antonio Laperal Tamayo & Dr. Daisy Moran Tamayo founded the Perpetual help college of Rizal (PHCR) on February 5,1975. The four-story school building was established along Alabang-Zapote Road, Las Pinas City and it catered to 185 students in the first two academic programs offered by the college the Bachelor of Science in Nursing and the Secondary Course. The school expanded its reach when it establish two (2) branches in 1995 and 1996 , the molino and Calamba campuses respectively. The Molino Campus started its operations with an initial enrolment of 700 students while the Calamba Campus opened with 367 enrollees. From these small beginnings, the school began to expand in terms of curricular programs. Finally in 1997, PHCR recorded a milestone when it received its university status from the Commisson on Higher Education (CHED). On May 18, 2017, CHED through the Chairman, Dr. Patricia Licuanan conferred upon the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA Las Pinas Campus the Autonomous Status. This recognition was received by UPHSD President Anthony Moran Tamayo during the awarding ceremony for higher education institutions and quality assurance partners in celebrations of the 23rd founding anniversary of CHED.


In 1976, one year after opening of the PHCR, they established the Perpetual Help Medical Center(PHMC) about 200 meters from the university. Through the years, the PHMC metamorphosed into the University of Perpeutal Help Rizal Medical Center (UPHRMC). Today, it’s Complementing the leadership and mangment functions of Dr./BGen Antino L. Tamayo and Dr. Daisy Moran Tamayo are their two sons, Anthony Jose and Richard Antonio, both cum laude graduates of the University of the Phillipines. Anthony Jose M. Tamayo assumed presidency of the UPHSD campuses: in January 2010. He is a cum laude graduate of Accountancy in University of the Phlilpplnes-Dihman, a Certified Public Accountant, and MBA degree holder from Kellogg School of Managment, North western University, and MA in education degree holder from Harvard University. Likewise, Richard Antonio M. Tamayo was appointed as President of the University Perpetual DALTA Medical Center. He is a also the president of other DALTA company including Dala Builders, Inc., Health Care and Development Inc., Dala Janela Founous President for Administration for DALTA Group of Companies Central Office and Executive Director of DALTA Group of Companies. Governace of uphsd

Governace of uphsd Chairman & CEO Dr./BGen. Antoniol TAMAYO heads a board of 15 Directors that governs the UPHSD, of which five directors represents the university of Perpetual Help Dalta, five for the university of Perpetual Help System Jonelta and UPH-Dr. Jose G.Tamayo Medical University Foundation.


A 5 1/2 year curriculum has a 11/2 BS program and 4 year MBBS Program the year program has been scheduled with 2 semisters along with yearly subjects. A digital classrooms with slides an ICD projectors used for teaching a problem based learning & group discussions are gradually introduced to understand the scenarios in the academics. All the laboratories and clinical sessions are scheduled to meet potients for history gatherings and physical examination.
